Antony Tudor, choreographer and teacher, was born in London and studied ballet with Marie Rambert beginning in 1928, choreographing his first ballet for her Ballet Club in 1931. At the invitation of Richard Pleasant, he came to the United States in 1940 to work with Ballet Theatre. He worked with other companies internationally, but his base remained the United States.
